Construction Under Ambler Train Tracks 'May Be Loud At Times,' Officials Warn
Once the "jack and bore" construction begins, it must continue for a period of at least 24 hours, authorities said.
AMBLER, PA — Construction will get underway underneath the SEPTA train tracks in Ambler later this month for the installation of sewage pipes and related infrastructure, officials said.
Work began Thursday, March 12, but the bulk of construction will take place on March 21 and 22.
Church Street and Main Street will remain open during the work, but delays should be expected in the area.

Crews will use a jack and bore for the work, a specialized construction method that allows piping to be installed without tearing up the surface.
"The process of placing this pipe underneath the tracks will be loud at times and you may experience vibrations from the construction as well," authorities said. "Due to the nature of the work being performed, there is a window of time where once the jack and bore is underway, construction will continue for a period of 24 consecutive hours and cannot stop."
