Doug was a special agent in the FBI, a covert operative for the CIA, and leaves behind many friends and admirers.
Douglas Childers, Jr., 64, of Ambler, died on Monday, June 18, of complications from liver disease.
Doug was a lifelong members of the Ironworkers Local 401, served as a special agent in the FBI, a covert operative for the CIA, and the master of tall tales.
He was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Maple Glen where he was one of the adult leaders of the church’s Youth Mission program.

Doug leaves behind his loving wife, Mary-Anne, his son Doug Zettles of Tampa, FL, two grandchildren, and a great grandchild, his brother Dennis Childers of Pennyan, NY, and many friends and family.
A memorial service in his honor was held on Saturday, June 23 t St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
