Montgomery County Community College will host Tim Zaal and Matthew Boger for their presentation of Hate 2 Hope, Nov. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the college's Science Center Theater.
More than 25 years after Boger, a gay, homeless teen was nearly beaten to death by Zaal, a now-reformed skinhead, the two men connected at the Tolerance Museum in Los Angeles, where they were both scheduled as guest speakers. As the two talked about their experiences in West Hollywood in the 1980s, they realized their paths crossed nearly three decades ago.
The pair now travels across the country, talking with audiences about their experiences. A 10-minute documentary is available on their YouTube channel. The event is free and open to the public.
