Ex-Montco Lawyer Stole Hundreds Of Thousands From Clients
He was trying to cover gambling debts from Atlantic City casinos.

ABINGTON, PA -- A former lawyer from Abington pleaded guilty to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from clients to cover gambling debts from Atlantic City casinos, according to a report.
Lawrence J. Roberts, 67, previously operated a law firm in Abington and had practiced law for 40 years before his disbarment after charges were pressed last May, according to The Intelligencer.
Roberts allegedly took funds from one client’s account and placed it in another, or, essentially, “robbing Peter to pay Paul,” the report states.
