FAMILIES FIND FREE SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION at BUCKS COUNTY CAMP EXPO ON JANUARY 17, 2015

American Camp Association camp fair helps connect families with day and overnight summer camps; find options for summer 2015.

Doylestown, PA – The annual camp fair season kicks off on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm with the free ACA Bucks County Camp Expo, presented by the nonprofit American Camp Association® (ACA) – serving camps and families more than 100 years. (Snow date: January 24, 2015.)

Running for nearly 20 years to connect parents with excellent summer camps that meet their needs, the 2015 ACA Bucks County Camp Expo will again be held in the Student Center Building at Delaware Valley College, 700 E. Butler Ave., Doylestown, PA 18901. The only regional camp fair run directly by ACA Keystone—the Pennsylvania and Delaware regional field office of the ACA—the Bucks Camp Expo helps families make good decisions about summer camp, because every child deserves the gift of camp.

The ACA Bucks County Camp Expo is the perfect place for parents and children to meet representatives from 50 traditional day and overnight camps, special interest and sports camps, academic and adventure camps, teen travel tours, and programs for children with special needs. Parents can also learn about choosing a camp and preparing a child for the summer camp experience from independent, objective ACA staff. Research shows that camp is critical to the education and development of the whole child. Camp helps kids get unplugged and reconnect with nature, build human relationships, find positive role models, make lifelong friendships, and learn critical life skills such as leadership, independence, teamwork, communication, conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and self-esteem. At the ACA Bucks County Camp Expo, families can find the right camp for every child and every budget.

Camp fairs like the ACA Bucks County Camp Expo introduce families to the wide range of programs available near and far. Parents can also ask about camps’ costs and tuition assistance, session length, camper age range, location, special programs, services for special needs children, and whether a camp is accredited by the American Camp Association. Most importantly, parents can speak personally with camp representatives to learn about the camp’s philosophy, programs, and policies. Find a list of questions to ask camp directors at www.campparents.org, a valuable online resource presented by the American Camp Association.
