Fire Breaks Out At Historic William Penn Inn
One of Montgomery County's treasured historic sites ran into trouble Friday.
LOWER GWYNEDD, PA — A fire broke out Friday morning at the William Penn Inn in Lower Gwynedd.
The incident began just before 10 a.m. at the historic restaurant on 1017 DeKalb Pike.
Authorities said the blaze started in the kitchen and continued up to the roof.

Nearby roads have been shut down and police ask drivers and residents to avoid the area.
First responders remain on the scene working to contain the blaze.

The Inn, built in 1714, bills itself as the oldest continuously operating country inn in the state.
