Flood Mapping Study Approved for West Ambler

Whitpain Township Supervisors approve agreement for a flood hazard mapping and mitigation study for the West Ambler.

The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously during their Tuesday night meeting to enter into an agreement with Temple University’s Center for Sustainable Communities for the Rose Valley Creek Flood Hazard Mapping and Mitigation Study.

The study, “while not be the first step for West Ambler but is the first fiscal commitment [from the township]” said Supervisor Fredrick Conner.

The study will find exactly where the flood plain is in the West Ambler section of the township and the results of the study will be taken and used to work with the community to work to begin to mitigate some of the flooding.

Supervisors voted to authorize the agreement for the study not to exceed $25,000 for the study.
