George D. Mackenzie, 77, of Maple Glen

MACKENZIE , GEORGE D. III, of Maple Glen, 77, on May 22, 2012. Devoted husband to Irma Kochmar MacKenzie for 49 years. Beloved father of Elizabeth P., George D. IV (Jennifer) and Jonathan B. (Gretchen). Loving grandfather of Meredith, Lydia, Edy, Teddy and Beatrice.

He was a graduate of Princeton High School, Rutgers University and Philadelphia Pennsylvania University where he received a Masters of Science Degree in Earth and Mineral Sciences. He was employed at General Refractories in Baltimore, MD., TRW in Philadelphia, and at Johnson Matthey in Deptford, NJ. He retired from Johnson Matthey Inc. in 2000 as Production Manager of Catalyst Division.

He served as Chairman of the Stewardship and Finance Committee and President of the Corporation for 6 years, was a ruling Elder of the Church Session for 9 years, he also served 2 terms on the Upper Dublin Environmental Protection Board.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral on Tuesday 11 A.M. at the Supplee Memorial Presbyterian Church, 855 E. Welsh Rd., Maple Glen. Interment George Washington Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9 to 11 A.M. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be sent to the Supplee Building Fund.
