Investigation Continues Into Fatal Whitpain Fire

WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Montgomery County Detectives are continuing their investigation the day after one person was killed in a fire in Whitpain Township.

The incident occurred in the early hours Thursday morning, sometime around 2 a.m., on the first block of Township Line Road, authorities said.

Crews battled the blaze but severe damage was done to the home. One victim, a male in his 50s, was found dead inside. The victim has not yet been identified.

The incident led to road closures in the area, as Township Line Road and Pemberton Road were blocked off to traffic in the wake of the blaze. Township Line was closed between Butler Pike and Narcissa Road, and Butler was closed near Township Line, police said.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. Montgomery County Detectives are leading the investigation into the incident.
