Lickity Split's Syminis Wins Girls Shot Put

On Sunday February 8, Philadelphia Masters Track and Field hosted an indoor meet at Albright College in Reading, PA. The events were attended by several hundred area youth, open and masters (35+) athletes.

Sophia Syminis, 11, a 6th grader at Wissahickon Middle School, captured first place in the 11-12 girls’ 6-pound shot put with an opening mark of 4.52 meters (14-10.00). She also competed in the 55-meter dash (13.02).

Sophia lives in Lower Gwynedd and competes for Lickity-Split Cougars Athletics (LSA), a USA Track and Field (USATF) club team, and practices twice weekly in Ambler. LSA is open to all area youth ages 5-18 regardless of school attended. For further informatioin contact LSA at: iPUT@hotmail.com
