Lower Gwynedd Elementary Among Best Elementary Schools In PA: Study
Impressive news for Lower Gwynedd Elementary and the Wissahickon School District as the 2017-2018 school year gets underway.
LOWER GWYNEDD, PA — Wissahickon School District had an impressive showing in a new ranking of the best elementary schools in Pennsylvania.
The ranking, done by information analysts Niche.com, was based on "rigorous analysis" of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education, as well as reviews from students and parents, the website said.
Wissahickon's Lower Gwynedd Elementary School placed 23rd on the list and seventh in Montgomery County. Other Wissahickon elementaries like Stony Creek (30), and Blue Bell (77) also made the top 100 statewide.

Ranking factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district, according to Niche.com.
Montgomery County was led by a slew of Lower Merion School District elementary schools, which took the top six slots in Montgomery County before Lower Gwynedd came in at seventh.

According to Niche, the best elementary school in Pennsylvania is Ithan Elementary School in the Radnor Township School District, which also finished in 16th place nationwide.
