Lower Gwynedd Gets $1M To Improve Key Intersections

The money will go towards pedestrian and roadway improvements at three key local intersections.

LOWER GWYNEDD, PA — Lower Gwynedd has received more than $1 million in funding from the state to improve safety at several key township intersections.

The funding is part of a series of $49 million disbursed to similar bridge, transit, bike, and pedestrian projects statewide, Gov. Wolf's office announced Tuesday.

Lower Gwynedd's $1,026,616 grant will improve pedestrian walkways and traffic signals while widening the roadway at the Bethlehem Pike, Norristown Road, and Sumneytown Pike intersections, Wolf's office said.

"With these resources, we can improve transportation connections down to the local level and make a big difference for communities," Gov. Wolf said. "These investments reflect our commitment to all modes of transportation, both statewide and locally."

The money comes from the state's Multimodal Transportation Fund. Three other projects in Montgomery County were also awarded funding.
