Lower Gwynedd's Westerman Sworn is as Sergeant

Westerman brings experience, leadership to Lower Gwynedd Police Department.

Surrounded by family and friends, officers from other police departments, and even his parents, who drove up for the occasion from their Myrtle Beach, SC home, officer Christopher Westerman, was sworn in as sergeant of the Lower Gwynedd Police Department on Tuesday night.

Police Chief John Scholly said the process for selecting a new sergeant included two interviews, one with three outside police chiefs and one with the township’s manager, Larry Comunale.

Scholly said all ten patrol officers in the department went through the process, but that Westerman came out on top.
