Lyn Fields, Wissahickon High School Prinicpal, Welcomes Students Back to School

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Welcome to the start of the 2011-2012 school year.  We anticipate a year filled with school pride, student accomplishments and educational success. 

The theme for this year is “We Believe In Honor and Academic Integrity.”  Our Staff will do all we can to promote, support and implement an understanding and appreciation of this theme for all our students.  We will continue to promote our 5 C’s of connecting, collaborating, challenging, communicating and celebrating with our students.  

This is an exciting time for our seniors as they begin their final year of high school.  The Class of 2012 is a strong, talented, creative and bright group of young men and women.  Please join WHS as we celebrate, encourage and take pride in the class of 2012.  

Please check out the WHS web site.  New this year is a link to scholarships available for seniors with an application form to apply for any of those scholarships students are eligible.  A new scholarship committee and a re-established Alumni Organization have been revived to celebrate present and past WHS graduates.  Look for more information about these committees and links to access news and activities to follow in the coming weeks.  

This year, we invite our school community to become involved in the events hosted by WHS-sports, concerts, clubs and the arts.  Beside the home football games which will all have a focus to bring out our fan base, the 10^th anniversary of 9/11 will feature a moving tribute for our community’s participation and this year’s art show celebrates its 25^th year.  We would like to see solid fan participation at both boys and girls events; plus what better way to spend a couple of hours cheering on a hometown team.  Let’s celebrate our PRIDE in Wissahickon.

I look forward to the start of the 2011-2012 school year.  It is my hope that a positive and rewarding high school experience awaits our students.  Please join my administrative team in supporting, encouraging and celebrating the students and staff of Wissahickon High School.
