Request forms can be downloaded from amblereac.org. The fee for the first tree is $55 and additional trees are $80 each. The EAC can assist homeowners in planting the trees.
A variety of trees are available in various sizes. They include Dwarf Sugar Maple, Eastern Redbud, Chokecherry , Autumn Spire Red Maple, Skyline Honey Locust, Sterling Silver Linden, Ginkgo Biloba, Seedless Kentucky Coffee Tree, Swamp White Oak and American Elm. Many of the trees are native.
Trees must be planted within 10 feet of the sidewalk, street, driveway or a parking lot.

Residents who are unsure which tree to choose or what location in their yard is best can request a free consultation from the Ambler EAC. The Ambler EAC can also coordinate volunteers to help residents dig the hole and plant their tree, if requested.
“A short application timeline requires property owners to act quickly,” said Mary-Margaret Monser, chair of the Ambler EAC. Interested property owners must download a form and return it to the Borough with a check by Feb. 14.
