Man Raped Ambler Woman 10 Times Over Past Year: Charges

The accused faces charges of rape, sexual assault, terroristic threats and several more.

AMBLER, PA — A Willow Grove man was charged with rape and sexual assault on an Amber woman Monday, April 16, according to reports. Leoncio Sacramento-Benitez, 39, of York Road, faces several charges for what police say was a year-long period of sexual assault on a woman.

The victim told police Sacramento-Benitez assaulted her in her apartment after she refused to provide paperwork for taxes. Police later found that the victim claims to have been sexually assaulted and raped for the past year, the Ambler Gazette reported.

The victim was evaluated at Abington Hospital.

Sacramento-Benitez was charged with 10 counts each of: rape, sexual assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, false imprisonment and harassment, according to the Gazette.

Sacramento-Benitez is being held at Montgomery County Prison on $50,000 bail, the Gazette reported the police as saying. He is scheduled to be arraigned on May 23 and has an ICE detainer.
