Mary P. Weston

Mary Weston, of Ambler, passed away Saturday, surrounded by her family.

Mary P. Weston, 87, of Ambler, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at home with her family.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (nee Hartigan) Prior, and the step daughter of the late James Arthur Kirk. Mary was also preceded in death by her brother John "Jack" Prior, her step sister Margaret Kirk and her grand-daughter Rosemary A. McAvoy.

Mrs. Weston was employed by the Wissahickon School District as a Cafeteria Lady for over 20 years until she retired in 1988.

Mary was a graduate of Little Flower High School Class of 1942. She was an avid reader.

Mrs. Weston was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Ambler Legion Post 125, and an Associate Member of the Vietnam Veterans Post 590 of Fort Washington.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband Raymond "Ray" Weston, and her devoted children Diane M. McAvoy and her husband Joseph of Quakertown, Mary A. Scherf and her husband Stephen of Bala Cynwyd, and Raymond F. Weston, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Norristown.

She is also survived by her grandchildren John Kirk and Patrick Joseph McAvoy, Jessica and Lily Rae Weston and Michael Scherf and her sister Kathleen Matusik of Collingdale. PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to call after 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St. Joseph's Church, Main and Poplar Streets, Ambler. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM with Rev. Eugene M. Tully. Interment will be in the St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Remembrances in her name to St. Joseph's Church, 16 S. Spring Garden Street, Ambler, PA 19002 would be appreciated by the family.
