Montco Fire Company Donates $26k In Gear To Liberian Firefighters

TOWAMENCIN, PA --The Towamencin Fire Company recently donated more than $26,000 in gear to a Liberia Fire Company that was in need.

The donation was inspired by lhaji Sacco, a University of Pennsylvania graduate who is also a native of neighboring Sierra Leone , and who had been working in Liberia for the Collingdale Fire Company.

Recently, he organized an effort to collect used fire gear from across the Delaware Valley, according to Compassion Corps.

Most of the shipment of donated gear, however, came from Towamencin Fire Company and fire chief George Siefert, the story says.

The gear had passed its usage time and was expired in the United States, but was still in great shape. The Collingdale Fire Company responded with the following thank you note:
