Montgomery County Woman Sustains Facial Injuries After Attack By Stranger
Whitpain Township Police arrested a man shortly after being called to a scene of a reported attack. The victim sustained facial injuries.

WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in this Montgomery County community say they arrested a man Thursday after he reportedly attacked a woman along the 900 block of Jolly Road.
Whitpain Police say they were dispatched to a reported assault a little after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Officers were told by a female victim that she had just been attacked by an unknown male as she was standing near her vehicle, according to news release.

Responding officers watched as a man matching the description of the suspect fled the area and into a nearby wooded area.
Police subsequently set up a perimeter to try and contain the man and officers also called in assistance from the K9 unit at the Plymouth Township Police Department.

Whitpain police also used the help of an aerial drone when looking for the suspect.
Police said the suspect was located in the woods a short time later and taken into custody without incident.
The female victim ended up sustaining facial injuries during the course of the attack and she was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment, according to Whitpain Police.
She was last listed as being in stable condition.
The suspect is expected to be charged with robbery, aggravated assault and related offenses, police said.
The suspect has not yet been publicly identified.
