Montgomery County Teenager Is Missing, 'Urgent' Search Underway

LOWER GWYNEDD, PA — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a Montgomery County teenager who ran away from his home days ago and has not been seen since.
Joon "Alex" Shin was first reported missing from his family's home in Lower Gwynedd on Sunday.
The Lower Gwynedd Township Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau are working together to conduct the search.

It's believed he left home by car, but there are indications he may have abandoned it to take public transportation, police said.
His cell phone last pinged his location as 11 and Arch streets in Philadelphia on Sunday night.

Further circumstances about his disappearance are unknown, but authorities said finding him immediately was crucial.
“There is an urgent concern for Alex’s safety and physical wellbeing,” District Attorney Kevin Steele said. “We are asking for the public’s help to get Alex home safely to his family.”
Alex is 175 pounds and 5 feet, 6 inches tall.
