UPDATE: On-Tap Philly Not Coming to Ambler, Owner Discusses New Plan for Restaurant

On-Tap Philly owner Dustin Majka informed Patch that the new bar will not be opening in Ambler. Instead, a new restaurant with a new concept will take it's place in roughly four-to-five weeks.

The long-awaited arrival of On-Tap Philly to Ambler came to a screeching halt on Thursday, when owner Dustin Majka informed Patch that he is no longer going to open the bar at the former location of Finn McCool's.

Majka would not specifiy the reasons for cancelling the planned opening, but he added that he plans to stay on with a new group, and they intend to open a different restaurant at the same location within a month.

According to their Facebook page, the new group intends to change the name and concept of the restaurant, but they also plan to retain all employees that were hired on under the On-Tap Philly business plan.

They have also tentatively scheduled their opening for four-to-five weeks from now, and have even created a contest to name the new establishment, with a $100 gift certificate going to the winner.

On-Tap Philly was originally slated for a May opening, with plans boasting up to 72 beers on tap, nightly events and entertainment, and use of the outdoor patio area.
