Stony Creek Elementary Community Kids Club will hold lemonade stands throughout the community this weekend to benefit Little Smiles.

Community Kids Club will hold lemonade stands around the community on April 28 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The money raised from the lemonade stands will benefit Little Smiles Philadelphia.

At the April Community Kids Club meeting, Kate Patterson, co-executive director of Little Smiles, met with the students to talk to them about Little Smiles.
She told the students that Little Smiles helps brighten the days of children who are sick and stuck in the hospital, or whose parents can’t buy them lots of fun, new things.

She said on a number of occasions WWE wrestlers have called, Skyped, or sent care packages to children in the hospital. They have also provided iPods for children to listen to music, video game consoles, a computer was provided to a patient so they could keep up with schoolwork, and more.
They also send children on weekend and daytrips.
They also provide simple things, like candy or remote control cars.
In shelters, they help children whose parents aren’t able to purchase them all sorts of things. Patterson told the students that the most requested item from children in shelters is a new pair of sneakers.
“Smiling is contagious…you’re able to spread a smile to a kid in the hospital,” Patterson told the students.
