Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition seeks entries
Digital entries will not be accepted this year.
The Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition is seeking entries for its 25th annual competition and has selected a panel of jurors to choose the images – and prize winners - for the show scheduled for June 4-25 at the 1756 grist mill just outside New Hope, Pa.
The exhibition’s theme is “Photography as Art” and “Photographer as Artist.” Work is accepted in any medium involving a photographic process. It draws entries from hobbyists, as well as professional artists from throughout the country and, in some years, from around the globe. More than half a dozen financial awards are presented, including a prize for “Best of Show.”
Framed and matted entries may be shipped to Phillips’ Mill Community Association by Feb. 24 or hand delivered on March 3 (from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) or March 4 (from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) to Phillips Mill, 2619 River Road (Route 32), New Hope (Solebury Township), Pa.

This year’s jurors, who will select about 150 of the submitted images, include:
- Paula Chamlee, a Bucks County photographer and painter whose images are displayed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach and the Library of Congress. She has taught photography workshops in 10 countries around the world and has published seven monographs of her photographs.
- Sandra Dillon, a Bucks County native, has exhibited her photos, paintings and videos internationally. She received a BFA in painting from Parsons School of Design, Paris, France and a MFA in photography and video from the School of Visual Arts in New York. She spent more than 15 years working as a film editor in New York City on such notable projects as Roger Waters’ Wall tour.
- Spencer Saunders is the founder of the Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition. His personal work combines architectural elements with strong contrasting visual composition. He worked as a master printer who now searches for the best in digital output. Cuba’s vibrant architecture and its people have been a source of inspiration for his current work.
