St. Anthony-St. Joseph Elementary Will Not Fight Closure

Earlier this year, the Philadelphia Archdiocese announced that St. Anthony-St. Joseph Elementary School in Ambler with St. Catherine of Siena in Horsham and St. Alphonsus in Maple Glen, at the Maple Glen site.

According to Philly.com, at least 24 of the 49 Catholic schools on the Archdiocese report are appealing the recommendation for closure or merger, SASJ’s Msgr. Stephen McHenry told CBS Philly that he has decided to not appeal the Blue Ribbon Panel’s recommendation that SASJ be merged to a regional school.

“When you look at the overall benefit of what we will be able to do and what kinds of programs we will be able to offer our children, then I just sensed that that was the direction to go in,” he told CBS Philly.
