St. Patty's Day To Be A Delight For Outside Festivities
Look out for this weekend as mother nature will be handing out gold for the holidays.

Yesterday felt a little bit chillier than forecasters expected. The trick behind this one is the high-pressure system sitting in the northeast. Winds in our area were coming from the east, thus bringing cooler air from the Atlantic Ocean.
Land cools and warms at a much more rapid rate than water, so even though the past couple of days have been flirting with the 70's, the sea surface temperatures are still in the mid to upper 40's.
This is a forecasters nightmare because predicted high temperatures can result in a horrible failure when faced with the actual turn out. To get to my point, on Thursday the forecasted high was in the low 70's. The actual result could barely make it to the upper 50's.

The real interesting part is that areas in central and western Pennsylvania saw high temperatures reach the upper 70's.
St. Patty's Day may be a repeat of Thursday, so I will pay close attention to giving high expected temperatures for tomorrow.

Starting out with today, temperatures will rise into the upper 60's with partly sunny skies. The region will be a little unsettled with a chance for some isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. West winds at 3 to 8 mph.
The scattered showers may linger into the evening, then eventually clearing out late. Temperatures will fall into the lower 50's with winds shifting from the west to north northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
St. Patty's Day won't be tricky in determining the sky conditions. Expect mostly sunny skies throughout the day, but with this pesky eastern wind. Models are indicating high temperatures to reach the upper 60's. I am going to play it safe and go with a high in the low 60's.
Tomorrow night will be mostly clear with temperatures falling into the upper 40's. Southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.
Recovery Day or should I say Sunday will be pleasant with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60's. Expect a nice breeze from the south at 3 to 8 mph.
By next week, a monster high-pressure system will dominate the area bringing very warm temperatures and sunny skies. There is still some uncertainty, but during the later part of the week it may not be suprising to see the number 80 on thermometers.
Don't take my word on that now, but it is possible.
