'There's A Poison Running Through You': Whitpain Robber Gets Harsh Sentence, Reports Say

A man convicted of gunpoint robbery in three Pennsylvania counties, including at the Whitpain Tavern, will likely spend the rest of his life in prison, according to a report.

Tyrice Griffin, 43, had a prior robbery conviction in 1996, and a third degree murder conviction in 1999, the report states.

“There’s a poison running through you,” Judge Gary S. Silow said to Griffin, according to the Times Herald. “Let’s face it, your record indicates that you are one bad dude.”

Griffin did maintain a semblance of a normal life, even owning his own barbershop and raising a son who is now in college, the report states.

The three places Griffin robbed were the Belvedere Inn in Lancaster, Arooga’s Sports Bar and Grill in Camp Hill, and the Whitpain Tavern, according to the report. The Whitpain incident occurred on November 4, 2013.

He’ll spend the next 60 to 120 years in prison, according to the report.
