Threat Made Against Wissahickon HS; Student Arrested

AMBLER, PA — Wissahickon High School had a delayed opening Monday after a threat was made against the school, officials said. One student is in custody.

The nature of the threat is not yet clear.

"We appreciate the community's understanding as we sorted through the facts and conducted an extensive, after hours investigation," the district said in a statement Monday morning. "Safety of staff and students remains our top priority."

The student in question is being detained at the county youth center.
