2-Alarm Fire Damages Ambler Eatery; Firefighter Hurt, Cat Rescued
Breaking: A two-alarm fire in Ambler Wednesday left one firefighter injured and caused damage to a restaurant.

AMBLER, PA —Crews battled a two-alarm fire at a building in Ambler late Wednesday morning into the afternoon, leading to a shut down of local roads and an injury to one firefighter. The blaze was extinguished by mid-afternoon.
The incident occurred on the unit block of E. Butler Pike., near the intersection with S. Main Street, at around 11:07 a.m., according to officials.
The fire involved Ambler Plaza and a local restaurant, 555 Lagiola. The exact extent of the damage is unclear.

Butler Pike was shut down as crews from numerous surrounding municipalities responded to the scene.
One firefighter was hurt and was taken to the hospital, according to CBS Philadelphia. There is no word yet on his condition.

It's not yet clear what caused the fire.
One cat, Ben, was successfully rescued from the blaze by firefighters, and reunited with his family. He's being treated at a local hospital but is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Ambler Police Department.
SEPTA bus routes were delayed and re-routed while crews responded to the scene.
