U.S. Rep. Pat Meehan: 'Lot To Like' In President Trump's State Of The Union
"I was encouraged by the President's tone and call for unity among both Republicans and Democrats...and real bipartisan cooperation"

Pennsylvania's U.S. Rep. Patrick Meehan (R-7) expressed his support for President Trump's State of the Union on Tuesday night, saying there was a "lot to like" in the speech.
The State of the Union was Trump's first major speech of his presidency and his first address of Congress. It received generally high ratings, as an estimated 28.2 percent of American households tuned in, according to CNN. Many characterized Trump's moderate tone as presidential.
The President also received a bipartisan standing ovation from Congress when he addressed Carryn Owens, the widow of fallen Navy SEAL William Ryan Owens.

"I think there was a lot to like in the President's address last night. I was pleased to hear him discuss the need to put Americans back to work and reform our broken tax code," Meehan said. "I was pleased to hear him reiterate his commitment to repealing Obamacare and making health care more affordable and more accessible for middle class patients. And I was encouraged by the President's tone and call for unity among both Republicans and Democrats. I'm hopeful his speech will be a starting point for real bipartisan cooperation on the challenges facing our nation today."
Meehan attended the event with Delaware County's State Rep. Nick Miccarelli, a National Guardsman.
