Wissahickon Boys, Girls Bring Home Top Honors From Trojan Track Classic
Wissahickon track and field athletes qualify for states at Trojan Track Classic.

Fresh off racing in the glare of the revered , the Wissahickon track and field teams competed locally at the 36th annual Trojan Track Classic.
The host school's boys and girls teams took home several notable achievements, which featured many of the top area runners.
Trojans senior Hong Cho easily took the 800-meter race with a 1:52.81, but fell .07 seconds short of breaking the meet record, set in 1997.

The Cornell-bound Cho beat his winning time from a year ago by nearly two seconds.
"I wanted to break our school record, and I was going for the meet record, but it was still a good performance," Cho told The Montgomery News. "This is my last home meet, so I wanted to go out on top."

Junior Max Hairston won the 300-meter and 110-meter hurdles to qualify for districts. He is currently ranked fourth in the state in the 110 meter hurdles and placed 11th overall at Nationals last year.
Other Wissahickon qualifiers include Ben Ravetz (1600 meter), Dave Stellato (400 meter), Sam Brooks (800 meter), Dillon Farrell (3,200 meter), SeJin Jeong (pole vault) and the 4x100 relay team of Jin Ho Park, Jin Young Park, Anthony DeLegall and Cornell Dixon.
"This has been a good week for our guys," Wissahickon head coach Don Betterly said. "We did what we expected to do at the , and (the Trojan Classic) is just another stop on the road. The goal is to make states and keep getting better and better."
The girls' 4x100 team of Kim Musey, Melanie Fry, Angeline Mulbah and Ebony Grasty also qualified for districts. Musey also qualified in the 100-meter hurdles, while Grasty qualified in the 100-meter hurdles and the triple jump.
Grasty also won the triple jump at the Trojan Classic with a distance of 35 feet 7 3/4 inches.
