Wissahickon HS Hires Three New Head Coaches

AMBLER, PA — This summer marks a changing of the guard for football, girls soccer, and girls volleyball at Wissahickon, as the district has announced the hiring of three new head coaches.

Bruce Fleming, who has coached for four years at Norristown and two more at Wissahickon, will take over the helm of the football team.

Varsity girls soccer will be led by Coach Chris McDaniels, who has a breadth of experience coaching, including at the Yardley Makefield Soccer Club, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program, and at Wissahickon. He's also played for Rider University, Father Judge HS, the United German Hungarians, and the Philadelphia Soccer Club Majors.

Angela Bensend will take over the girls volleyball program. Bensend competed for Louisiana State University and as a pro in Italy. In 2013, she competed for Team USA in professional beach volleyball, the district said. She's also coached at several levels and for both boys and girls.
