Wissahickon Library Holds Writing Workshops

Elena Santangelo, award-winning local author, will present two writing workshops in June at The , diagonally across from the historic Blue Bell Inn. The first workshop will be on Thursday June 21 at 7 p.m. and the second one on Saturday June 23 at 2 PM.  Each workshop will contain similar analysis, discussion and hands-on activities.  The workshops are scheduled to accommodate those who work and need an evening class and those who prefer a daytime or weekend class.  With summer coming, this might be the right time to start writing that story. 

Both workshops are designed for two purposes.  First, many readers want to become writers and get published. Elena will guide those who want to be writers, are  starting their first  novel, or who have written but need an experienced writer to give them direction. Secondly, many readers don’t want to write, but just want to discover how writers come up with their ideas, organize their plots and develop their characters. Elena will discuss these topics as well.

Elena lives in Montgomery County and is the author of two mystery novel series, including the book BY BLOOD POSSESSED, which was nominated for an Agatha Award. Her armchair companion to Agatha Christie's short stories, DAME AGATHA'S SHORTS, won the Agatha for Best Nonfiction and was nominated for Anthony and Macavity Awards.
