Wissahickon Music Teacher Presented with 'Teacher as Hero' Award

music teacher John Conahan was presented with the 2012 Teacher as Hero award from the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia.

At Monday night’s school Board meeting, Wissahickon High School Principal Lynn Fields presented the award to Conahan in front of the Board.

Fields said Conahan spends “countless house with his students and the Wissahickon community” and has worked “to promote music in our school and community.”

“This is one talented young man,” she continued. “There could be no better, more deserving recipient.”

Conahan is one of 12 Teacher as Hero award recipients this year from the National Liberty Museum.
