Wissahickon Park Gets $1 Million Grant
Great news for lovers of the Wissahickon Creek and surrounding nature.

WHITPAIN, PA — Great news for lovers of the Wissahickon Creek and surrounding natural environs: the state has given a $1 million grant to improve the area.
The grant, awarded to Wissahickon Park and Wissahickon Valley Boys and Girls Club, was announced by State Rep. Mary Jo Daley (D-148) on Wednesday.
“Wissahickon Park and the Wissahickon Boys and Girls club are vital resources within our community, and I’m pleased that the state has awarded funding to help with this exciting revitalization project,” Daley said in a statement.

The money will go towards revitalizing park amenities, stormwater improvements, parking development, and a new 52,000 square foot building. The building will house the Boys and Girls Club, along with a Whitpain Recreation Association Field House, officials said.
The grant comes from the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.
