Young Park Will Run for School Board Two-Year Term, Not Four
Park, current school board president, will be on the November ballot, running for a two-year term vacated by Dawn Roberts.

With Dawn Roberts resigning her seat on the in June, the Board has appointed Gene Murphy to fill the seat until a special election can be held in November.
However, restructuring of the November ballot has been made by the Area 10 Republican Committee and candidates.
Young Park, current School Board president, will be on the ballot in the two-year term vacated by Roberts as opposed to the four-year term he was .

Brian Miles, chairman of the Whitpain Republican Committee said in an e-mail to Ambler Patch, “Strong Republican leadership over the last 6 years has delivered educational improvement, greater accountability for our teachers and administrators and an unmatched record of fiscal discipline.”
“We are proud of the Republican record in Wissahickon and believe it is important to offer voters strong incumbent candidates for both the four year and two year terms on the ballot in November,” he continued.

The change will not be official until the Area 10 Republican Committee Meeting next week, at which time they will also select a nominee for the four-year term.
CORRECTION: The article original stated that the change was made by the Whitpain Republican Committee. Rather, the Area 10 Republican Committee make the nomination. Area 10 Republican Committee is a joint committee of Ambler, Whitpain and Lower Gwynedd Republicans. Also, the original article did not state that the restructuring of the ballot would not be official until after the Area 10 meeting next week.
