2 Israeli Hostages With Main Line Ties Released By Hamas: Reports

Eitan Yahalomi, 12, and Ditza Heiman, 84, were among hostages released by Hamas. Both have connections to the Main Line.

LOWER MERION, PA — A hostage exchanges continue between Hamas and Israel, two of the recently released have ties to the Main Line.

According to NBC10, Eitan Yahalomi, 12, has distant relatives in Wynnewood and 84-year-old Ditza Heiman has a stepson in Ardmore.

Yahalomi, a French-Israeli, had been held captive for 53 days and his aunt told a French news outlet he was forced to watch footage of the Oct. 7 attack.

Two other French-Israeli youth, ages 12 and 16, were released.

"Three of our young compatriots are part of the group of hostages released today. Extremely happy with this announcement," French President Emmanuel Macron said on social media. "We remain fully mobilized to obtain the release of all the hostages."

Heiman was released more than a month after her stepson Amichai Shdaimah, 59, of Ardmore, said he saw her in Hamas propaganda footage.

The 84-year-old lived in Kibbutz Nir Oz.

"She looks great," Shdaimah told Fox 29. "She asked if we would come visit. She's gonna make us chicken soup."

Israeli officials announced the release of Heiman and nine others Tuesday on social media.

In return, Israel released 30 Palestinian prisoners.
