ARDMORE, PA — Several elderly residents were rescued from a house fire Friday afternoon in Ardmore, officials said.
The fire emerged at 2:34 p.m. at 100 Grandview Road. Ardmore Fire Chief Tom C. Hayden heard calls for help from the first floor as smoke left the back of the house.
Hayden and James Gulliver, Lower Merion's deputy fire marshal, immediately entered the home and rescued two elderly women, officials said.
Shortly after, additional crews arrived and searched the second floor. They found a man who didn't know the house was on fire and evacuated him.
All Lower Merion fire stations helped extinguish the blaze.
Narberth Ambulance evaluated the residents at the scene.
The cause of the fire wasn't immediately available.
