Apply For Positions On Lower Merion's Historic Commission And Architectural Review Board

The Lower Merion Township Historical Architectural Review Board and Historical Commission have positions open and township officials are accepting applications from interested and qualified persons, according to the township website.

Two-five year positions on the Historical Architectural Review Board are available, and one of those positions requires that the member reside or work in one of the Township’s historic districts. Individuals who live or work in a historic district are strongly encouraged to apply, the township's website says.

The position on the Historical Commission is and alternate position. An alternate appointee is permitted to participate in any proceeding or discussion of the commission but is not entitled to vote as a regular member of the commission to the same and full extent as provided by law for regular commission members.

"The Historical Architecture Review Board and the Historical Commission give counsel to the Board of Commissioners regarding the advisability of issuing permits required to be issued, with respect to properties located on the Township’s Historic Resource Inventory or in one of the Local Historic Districts," the township website says. "Historic preservation experience, or experience working with historic buildings, is preferred but not required."

Interested parties should complete the Boards & Commissions Application Form, which can be found on on the township website. Applications along with a current resume should be submitted by Friday Oct. 14 to Township Secretary Jody L. Kelley, Township Secretary, 75 E.
