Ardmore Group Fighting Development Cites Parking Issues, Overcrowding

The group wants to save Ardmore from further development and more traffic. Do you agree?

The Ardmore Group fighting to prevent further development in the area says that new construction by Dranoff Properties would exacerbate an already bad parking and overcrowding situation.

Save Ardmore posted the following note on their Facebook page Monday:

The Save Ardmore Coalition sued Dranoff Properties in August, and a hearing on the matter was held Wednesday, according to Philadelphia Business Journal.

Their suit alleges that the $10.1 million which Dranoff received from the state, via the the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, is a misappropriation of public funds, the report states.

“Dranoff Properties is the only developer in Lower Merion Township - one of the wealthiest townships in Pennsylvania - to demand that taxpayer money subsidize the construction of a luxury apartment development,” Save Ardmore reportedly said.

Save Ardmore has been fighting Dranoff over the Cricket Avenue parking lot since 2008, the report states.
