Ardmore Merchants Star in “The Music Man”
The singing Elkins family, owners of Rittenhouse Electric Supply (located in Ardmore for the last 60 years,) returns to the stage in the musical “The Music Man.” Seven members of the family—three generations—are appearing in a local production which will be performed March 18, 19, 25, and 26 at Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El in Wynnewood.
Michael Elkins plays Harold Hill the smooth-talking con man who sells musical instruments to the townspeople to form a kids’ band even though he cannot play any instrument. Amy Elkins (Michael’s wife) plays Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn, the mayor’s wife. Lila Elkins (their daughter) plays Winthrop the lisping singer of Gary, Indiana. Benji Elkins (their son) takes the part of Tommy Djilas the teen from the wrong side of town. Roz Elkins is Alma Hix and Jerry Elkins is Salesman #4 in this delightful comic story. You can find them signing autographs every day at Rittenhouse Electric.
