Ardmore Shooting Hurts 1 Thursday Night: Police

Police said a 7-Eleven worker was leaving the store Thursday night when two armed men came up behind him then fired several shots at him.

ARDMORE, PA – A 7-Eleven clerk was shot during a late night incident in the Ardmore section of Haverford Township Thursday, according to police.

Haverford Police said at about 11:31 p.m., a worker at 7-Eleven on the 2600 block of Haverford Road was injured by a bullet after several shots were fired at him.

The victim was walking down Belmont Avenue from the store when he felt someone come up behind him, police said.

He turned around and saw two men wearing masks and dark hoodies armed with handguns, police said.

One of the men told him to not move and then one of the men fired three to five shots at the victim, police said.

The victim felt pain in his right ankle, dropped his phone, and ran to the 7-Eleven where he called police, police said.

Police said the victim's ankle was grazed by a bullet and that he was released from the hospital with a minor injury.

The two men, described as 18- and 20-year-old black men, were seen running from the area on Belmont Avenue toward Wynnewood Road, police said.

Haverford Police are investigating the shooting.
