The restaurant made the announcement on Facebook Wednesday afternoon.
"After five great years in Ardmore we have made the decision to close Barbacoa," the announcement reads. "You have brought us into your homes; you allowed us to feed your guests at important events and made us feel like part of your families. We have watched your children get older and we thank you for trusting us to feed them over the last few years."

After five great years in Ardmore we have made the decision to close Barbacoa. You have brought us into your homes; you allowed us to feed your guests at important events and made us feel like part of your families. We have watched your children get older and we thank you for trusting us to feed them over the last few years.
This was not an easy decision to make for us but we felt it was time for a change. Change can be a lot of things and we hope that you "enjoy" what is ahead of us. We are very excited about the changes coming to Ardmore and look forward to being a part of the continuing progress happening in our little corner of the world. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for supporting us through some of our challenges of the last year. I think we all take for granted that our health will never change. It has been tough to balance work, the restaurant and watching a close friend go through a battle for his life. We are going to take a little break and be back before you know it but we did not just want to take this break without explaining what was happening to Barbacoa. We hope you have a safe and fun summer and we will see you all soon.
Cheers!
