Assault, Burglary, Thefts, Stolen Vehicle: Lower Merion Crime Blotter

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion released details on recent crime incidents in the township.

Incidents highlighted occurred between July 26 and Aug. 13.

August 13

• Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that when they returned to their Nissan this morning, they discovered the front passenger window was smashed out and the interior of the vehicle was gone through. The victim advised they parked the vehicle along the street in front of the apartment complex the night before. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - While investigating a previous theft from vehicle, officers located a Honda with a smashed out passenger side window and the interior of the vehicle gone through. The victim stated that they parked their vehicle along the road outside their apartment complex the night before. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - A Kia was discovered with a smashed out driver's side window and the interior of the vehicle gone through while investigating the previous incident. The victim stated they parked their vehicle along the roadway in front of the apartment complex the previous evening. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Attempted Theft of Vehicle (Overbrook Hills) - Victim reported that the rear passenger side window of their Hyundai was broken out and the steering column and ignition were damaged. The victim advised that they parked the vehicle along the roadway in front of their residence the previous night. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Overbrook Hills) - Victim reported that they discovered the rear door of their Honda standing slightly open and the interior of the vehicle have been rummaged through. The victim stated they parked their vehicle along the roadway in front of their residence the night before. The investigation into the incident is continuing.

August 9

• Attempt Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim reported that they received a notification that there was an attempt to steal their vehicle through an app on their phone. The rear passenger window of their GMC was broken out, and the vehicle appeared to have been moved. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft of Vehicle (Ardmore) - Victim reported that their Mazda was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment building in the overnight hours. The victim advised that the vehicle was left unlocked with a key inside the vehicle. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim reported that their Cadillac was stolen from the parking garage of their apartment complex in the overnight hours. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - During the investigation of previous theft of vehicles, a Kia was discovered with a broken rear window. The interior of the vehicle was gone through. The investigation is continuing.
• Burglary (Penn Valley) - A burglary was discovered when the homeowners returned to the residence and discovered heavy ransacking throughout the residence. It appears that entry was made by smashing a rear sliding glass door. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

August 8

• Theft from Vehicle (Merion Station) - Victim reported that unlocked Ford work van was entered and gone through overnight while parked along the street in front of their residence. Numerous tools were missing from the vehicle. The investigation into the incident is continuing.

August 7

• Theft of Bicycle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim reported that their bicycle was stolen from the parking garage of their apartment building. The bicycle was secured to a fence at the time of the incident. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

July 30

• Theft of Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that their BMW was stolen from the driveway of their residence in the overnight hours. The BMW was unlocked with the keys left in the center console. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that their unlocked Mercedes was entered and gone through overnight while parked in the driveway of their residence. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that their unlocked BMW was entered and gone through overnight while parked in the driveway of their residence. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

July 28

• Assault (Ardmore) - Victim was shot multiple times by a pellet gun while running on the roadway. The actor(s) shot the victim while driving down the roadway and fled towards Philadelphia. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

July 26

• Theft of Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that their Mazda was stolen from their driveway in the overnight hours. The Mazda was reported to be unlocked with a key fob left inside a purse. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft of Vehicle (Wynnewood)- Victim reported that their Honda was stolen from in front of their residence in the overnight hours. The Honda was reported to be unlocked with keys left inside the vehicle. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Attempt Theft of/from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that they received RING video of two actors entering their unlocked Toyota and Subaru overnight, while they were parked in their driveway. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
• Burglary (Gladwyne) - Vacant property was broken into between late June and this date. Entry appeared to be through unlocked rear french doors. The investigation is continuing.
