Back to School: Lower Merion 2022-23 School Calendar

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in the Lower Merion area, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the Lower Merion School District.

The first day of school for students in grades one through 6 and 9 through 12 is Tuesday, September 6.

With the new Black Rock Middle School opening this year, fifth and sixth grade students at the new school will have their first day on Sept. 6, but will have a day off Sept. 7.

On Sept. 7, only seventh and eighth grader students will be in the school.

All Black Rock Middle School students will attend together on Sept. 8.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• First Day: Tuesday, Sept. 6, for grades one through 6, grades nine through 12, and Black Rock Middle School grades five and six; Wednesday, Sept.7, for grades seven through eight at Black Rock.
• Thanksgiving Break: Elementary school early dismissal Tuesday, Nov. 22; all school early dismissal Wednesday, Nov. 22. Break, Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25.
• Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 26 through Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.
• Spring Break: Monday, April 3, 2023, through Friday, April 7, 2023.
• Last Day: Friday, June 16, 2023 (subject to change based on weather-related closures throughout the year).
