Bench Dedicated To Local Student Who Died From Fall In Bermuda
Waldron Mercy Academy graduate Mark Dombroski, 19, of Media, died tragically after a fall in 2018 while in Bermuda for a rugby tournament.
MERION STATION, PA — A bench has been dedicated in honor of a St. Joseph's University student who tragically died in Bermuda while attending a Rugby tournament.
Mark Dombroski, 19 and a member of the Waldron Mercy Academy Class of 2013, died from injuries suffered in a fall on March 18, 2018 while in Bermuda for the tournament. He was a freshman at St. Joe's University.
Family, friends, and former teachers gathered together to dedicate a bench in memory of Dombroski at Waldron Mercy Academy recently.

Dombroski's classmates raised money to fund the purchasing and installation of the Buddy Bench, which is intended to be a place for children visit if they need someone to talk to or play with on the playground.
“We’re incredibly touched that Mark’s classmates put together such a beautiful gesture in his memory,” said his mother Lisa Dombroski. “We think it will impact children for years to come. It will carry Mark’s legacy of kindness forward if it helps a lonely child on the playground make a new friend."

Dombroski's body was found March 19, 2018 at the bottom of a 35-foot cliff in Bermuda's Devonshire parish near the police headquarters after being last seen at about 1 a.m. on March 18, 2018.
