Bookkeeper Stole $394K From Ardmore Business: Authorities
An Ardmore woman is accused of using her employer's funds to buy plane and sports tickets, buttock augmentation surgery, and more.

ARDMORE, PA — An Ardmore woman is facing felony charges after authorities alleged she stole nearly $400,000 from her employer.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Lower Merion Township Police Superintendent Michael J. McGrath Tuesday announced the arrest of Tiarah Brokenborough, 29, of Ardmore, on multiple felony counts related to the theft of more than $394,000 from Hynes Roofing and Siding.
She has been charged with dealing in proceeds of illegal activity, theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, forgery and other related charges.

According to authorities, John and Michelle Hynes, owners of Hynes Roofing and Siding located in Ardmore, contacted the Lower Merion Police on March 14 to report that they had learned of asignificant outstanding balance on a company American Express card that they thought hadbeen closed 18 months earlier.
In their further review of the statements, the Hynes found numerous airline tickets purchased in the name of their company bookkeeper, Tiarah Brokenborough.

Lower Merion Police began an investigation into the apparent theft and found unauthorized use of not only the American Express credit card, but also other company credit cards and the company’s checking account, from Oct. 1, 2018 through March 2020, when the theft was discovered by the Hynes’s.
An extensive review of the charges to the credit cards and checking account, including obtaining records of all transactions, found that Brokenborough made unauthorized purchases and wrote unauthorized checks that totaled $394,412.44.
In addition to airline tickets, unauthorized purchases and charges by Brokenborough were for other vacation expenses; rent payments; more than $28,000 worth of tickets through StubHub, including tickets for 76ers, Flyers and Dallas Cowboys games and a Drake concert; $5,865 paid to a plastic surgeon for liposuction and buttock augmentation; car payments; fine dining; and other purchases and expenses.
Brokenborough was released on $10,000 unsecured bail
Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 15.
