Sales! Sales! Sales!

Time to shop for some great deals right in our neighborhood!!!!

Being a wardrobe consultant and personal shopper, I am always in and out of stores … both in the real and virtual worlds. Often I get frustrated as I enter brick and mortar stores only to find that the prices I found online are not being honored in the stores.

More than a few times I have talked with the sales person and expressed my frustration—and sadness—at this discrepancy. I cannot understand why the retailers would continue to support the overhead costs of brick and mortar stores while undermining them with better pricing online. This seems unjust to us, the consumers, but truly unjust to their own employees. How can we buy the item in the store for ourselves or others when we know it is 20 percent (or more) off online?

The other day, however, I was NOT frustrated by what I saw.

On a working trip to Suburban Square (a shopping venue with many national chains), where I LOVE to shop … I found so many great deals … in the store!

It was so pleasing to see that The Gap, Ann Taylor and White House-Black Market were all offering fabulous discounts. I picked up some things for others at great prices and a few things for myself … like an adorable short sleeve cardigan from Ann Taylor at 40 percent off. If you’re interested in getting one for yourself, it comes in black and white and many other great colors. Here is the link if you’re interested.

So, ladies and gentleman … I say I hit the pavement! The sales are in our neighborhood. Showing the love for our local stores will keep them here.
