Burn Ban Instated In Lower Merion Township

Lower Merion Township has instated a burn ban, prohibiting open fires, including recreational fire pits and fireworks, for the month.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — A burn ban has been instated in Lower Merion Township.

Officials Thursday announced the ban on the heels of a record number of days without measurable precipitation in the region, according to the National Weather Service.

In Lower Merion, the ban is in effect Friday, Nov. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 30.

The burn ban prohibits open fires, including recreational fire pits and fireworks, within Lower Merion Township.

And, all township-issued recreational fire permits are being revoked during the ban.
