Construction, Lot Consolidation Proposal Tabled In Lower Merion

The township's planning commission Monday will no longer consider a proposal Monday regarding work at Black Rock Middle School.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion Township Planning Commission will no longer hear a proposal regarding construction and lot consolidation at the new Lower Merion School District Middle School Monday.

The commission was set to hear the proposal at Monday night's regular meeting, which is still taking place at 7 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Board Room of the Township Administration Building, 75 East Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.

An updated planning commission agenda shows the hearing has been tabled.

At Black Rock Middle School, the district is seeking to:

  • construct six, multipurpose, natural grass athletic fields;
  • construct 52 surface parking spaces;
  • adaptive reuse of the existing pool house located at 1835 County Line Road for District purposes, such as meeting space for district organizations;
  • demolish of all improvements on 1800 W. Montgomery Ave. including the existing single-family dwelling, detached garage, and the garden walls and outbuildings;
  • install of three stormwater management systems;
  • construct a sidewalk along County Line Road and the driveway;
  • and construct retaining walls varying from one to 18 feet in height.

There is no word on when the proposal will be heard.
