Service Resumes On Paoli/Thorndale Line After Main Line Bridge Strike

The Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail line has resumed service after a tractor-trailer struck the underpass at Wynnewood Station Friday morning.

WYNNEWOOD, PA — The Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail Line has resumed service after a tractor-trailer struck an underpass at the Wynnewood Station Friday morning.

Lower Merion Police told Patch tractor trailer heading east on Penn Road struck the underpass at the Wynnewood Station.

The strike caused structural damage to the bridge, forcing officials to close the road immediately.

SEPTA at about 12:30 p.m. said normal operations to and from Thorndale Station had resumed, but that riders can expect delays of up to 15 minutes while full operations are restored.

Lower Merion Police closed Penn Road between Wynnewood and Aubrey roads Friday morning due to the strike. It's unclear if the road has reopened. Authorities also closed the pedestrian underpass. No traffic is permitted through the area until further notice, police said.
